Given the upsurge in crime rate against women in the country, stepping into the shoes of a rapist, albeit for a Bollywood film, would certainly not seem to be an easy task for many.
However, for producer Siddharth Jain's next film, as many as 400 men auditioned for the role of a sexual molester. And a young graduate from the FTII in Pune has been finalised for the role. Sunny has acted in a couple of films earlier, including Vikram Bhatt's Shaapit.
Directed by Sanjay Chehel, the film has just gone on floors and will be competed in two weeks. On whether his film is based on last year's notorious Delhi rape case, Jain states, `The problem was that half of the boys did not want to play the role of the rapist.
I was looking for a new face, and it took us four months to do our auditions. I faced a similar situation during Ragini MMS.` Among the four actors and actresses in the film, Anjali Patil (Chakravyuh) has also landed a role. `The other two girls are new faces,` adds Jain.
