Abhinav made his directorial debut in 2010 with superhit action film 'Dabangg', casting Salman in lead role and launching Sonakshi Sinha. Gossip mills were abuzz that all was not well between Abhinav and Salman and hence the director might not direct him in the second instalment.
"If a great script comes my way, I will surely work with Salman Khan. There is no problem between us and it's the media which has put out such reports.
These speculations are made by you guys only, " Abhinav told reporters here at the trailer launch of his upcoming film 'Besharam'. Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as a middle-class boy, his first out-and-out vagabond, commercial role in 'Besharam'.
"I don't think I am pitching him as anti-hero. It is a very messy role something which Ranbir has not done yet. He took his own time to say yes to the film. Through my films, I try to make people laugh.
The film will entertain even those people who are not educated and those educated, " Abhinav said. Ranbir could not attend the launch today as he was busy shooting in Sri Lanka for 'Bombay Velvet'. Abhinav said the title 'Besharam' (shameless) does not have a negative meaning. "Every word is beautiful when someone becomes besharam in love...It has a positive sense, " he said.
The film brings the Kapoor family Ranbir and his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu -- together on the screen for the first time. "When I cast Ranbir Kapoor, I was looking for an elderly cop's role.
While talking to Ranbir, I realised that Rishi sir has not yet done a cop's character and that's how I decided to cast Rishiji. And then I thought lets cast Neetuji also as the three has not worked together earlier. Both of them were easily convinced to do the film, " Abhinav said. Also starring Pallavi Sharda, the film is set to release on October 2.
