The "Kahaani" director says he is being confused by people for being Sircar, who has directed the much-appreciated "Madras Cafe".
Ghosh has been singing praises for the John Abraham-starrer political thriller, but says the reason goes beyond just how much he loved the film.
"The reason I am promoting 'Madras Cafe' is because a lot of people are coming up to me and congratulating me! So since I am Shoojit Sircar, I should," Ghosh posted on Twitter.
"One chap not only congratulated me for 'Madras Cafe', but also said my direction in 'Vicky Donor' was superb! Ab main kya bolun (Now what do I say?)," he added.
Ghosh's 2012 movie "Kahaani", featuring Vidya Balan, won appreciation for its taut screenplay and thrilling storytelling. It also won the National Film Award for screenplay.
After watching Sircar's recently released "Madras Cafe", Ghosh described it as "a film which doesn't take its audience for granted".
"Very nicely done. Very proud of Shoojit. Please see, if you can," he added. Ghosh also counted it among his three favourite movies of the year so far.
The others, he said, are "D-Day" and "Chennai Express".
