Rishi and Dimple play a mature couple, who decide to marry at a time when their kids are about to do the same, much to the horror of Dimple's daughter, played by Soha Ali Khan.
But Soha's progressive boyfriend, Sammir Dattani, openly supports his future mother-in-law's marriage plans.
The film is produced by Percept Pictures. "We've decided to focus on the Rishi-Dimple pair.
Though Sammir and Soha are pivotal to the plot, Pyar Mein Twist is the older couple's story," says Chithra Subramaniam of Percept.
Shetty, who earlier made the crime caper Plan explains, "For our generation, Rishi and Dimple are the ultimate love pair.
All the other successful star pairings, like Kumar Gaurav-Vijeta Pandit, Sanjay Dutt-Tina Munim and Hrithik Roshan-Ameesha Patel, were simply following Rishi-Dimple's path. I'm pretty confident that enough people want to see a mature love story."
With the success of the Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini pairing in Ravi Chopra's Baghban, there is enough reason to believe that another film on an autumnal romance will work. Good luck, Dimple, Rishi!
