Tanu Weds Manu and Raanjhanaa actress Swara Bhaskar who featured with Farooque Shaikh in Listen Amaya has fond memories of the late actor.

She says, `He never spoke much about the craft of acting and one often found him reading a book between scenes. But to actually watch him in action and witness his effortlessness when performing or just being in the moment; one could see that he was an actor with finesse.

While narrating a story about Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Farooque Sir had told me, `An actor can never go beyond the vision of a director. This is the truth of our cinematic medium and it's very important for an actor to understand that.`


And then with the characteristic twinkle in his eye he had quipped, `There you have an excuse to shirk hard-work!` Amidst all these wise-cracks, there was a profound, well-read, genteel man. And more importantly, someone with quiet wisdom.`
