Latest news has it that Ranbir Kapoor's upcoming film 'Roy' will clash with Shahid Kapoor's film 'Haider' as the two are scheduled to release on September 12.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh is known to have tweeted about the same. "Another clash! It will be Ranbir Kapoor versus Shahid Kapoor on 12 Sept. #Roy versus #Haider," read his post on this social media site.
When contacted, producer Bhushan Kumar confirmed the news saying, "'Roy' will release on September 12 and it doesn't matter if another film is releasing on the same day. It is very difficult to get a clear window to release the film, so it doesn't make sense to keep shuffling the date. We will start shooting for the film in March, with the first schedule being shot in Mumbai, followed by the second schedule in South Africa. We will shoot it at a stretch and finish shooting by May."
While Roy is a love-triangle directed by Vikramjit Singh, 'Haider' -- based on William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet' -- is director Vishal Bharadwaj's next venture. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, this film will now be up against Anushka Sharma's film, 'NH10', and Ranbir Kapoor's 'Roy'.
