An imposter using Aditya Chopra's name on Facebook has been asking people to pay Rs 2,000 and get cast in the Shah Rukh Khan- starrer, 'Fan', that is slated to go on the floors later this year. Apparently, there have been several enquiries about the same with the production house.
Shanoo Sharma, who heads the casting department at Yash Raj Films, found out about this and promptly tweeted about the same. Warning people about this hoax, she tweeted, `This is a false account and it has nothing to do with us. If there are any casting updates, they will only be posted on our official page.''
This is not the first time someone has misused a production house's name to dupe film industry aspirants. Fake accounts of filmmakers such as Imtiaz Ali, Tarun Mansukhani, Neeraj Pandey, and Samir Karnik, among others, have been misleading strugglers for quite some time now.
Recently, mails sent from Imtiaz Ali's fake id instructed aspiring actors to attend auditons for his film, Meera. There were also posts on Facebook which claimed that filmmaker Neeraj Pandey was auditioning in Bangalore and Delhi for his next film. His office denied the same and filed a complaint with the cyber cell.
In case of Tarun Mansukhani, there were posts on Facebook and other social media platforms that claimed that the director was casting for Dostana 2. It's time the cyber cell got more vigilant about such cases and nabbed the culprits.
