Classic Rajesh Khanna starrer 'Ittefaaq' to be remade

Abhay Chopra, son of filmmaker Ravi Chopra, is set to wield the directorial baton. He is remaking the 1969 suspense thriller, Ittefaq.

The young filmmaker has on board two writers who are currently working on the movie's script.

Says Abhay, `Yes, it's one of the films we are developing, but we can't talk more at this time.` The trade is abuzz that Abhay's friend Ranbir Kapoor has been approached, but the filmmaker denies it.

Produced by BR Chopra, Ittefaq was directed by Yash Chopra. It starred Rajesh Khanna and Nanda and was a remake of the British film, Signpost to Murder (1965), starring Joanne Woodward.
