Karan Johar's dream project 'Shuddhi' has faced enough hurdles by now. The film has had its share of casting problems right from the start.
For starters, Hrithik Roshan, who was earlier signed to play the lead in the film, decided to quit the project. It is said that he left the film due to personal reasons, but sources now say that this is not the case.
"The actor quit the film as he was not happy with the profit-sharing deal between him and Karan Johar. Hrithik had asked for 40 per cent of the film's total profit. But Karan Johar didn't agree to this. This prompted Hrithik to opt out of 'Shuddhi'," says a source.
It may be pointed out that the KJo has still not finalised the film's cast, even though the project was announced more than a year ago. 'Shuddhi', to be directed by Karan Malhotra, is supposed to go on the floors in the mid-2014 and is slated to release next year.
Both Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar remained unavailable for comment.
