Diamonds are forever - and Bollywood couldn't agree more as a galaxy of stars descended here for a fashion show that showcased the glittering stones.

The show, organised by the Belgium-based Vijaydimon group, was held to celebrate the launch of 'Signet', its flagship diamond jewellery showroom in New Delhi.

"As a woman I love jewellery. And diamonds are special," said actor Bipasha Basu who was among those who walked the ramp.

"Diamond jewellery symbolises elegance and I want to associate with beauty and elegance in what ever form it may be. It speaks volumes about your lifestyle," said actor Shilpa Shetty.

"Bollywood and fashion are closely associated. So it is natural for me to endorse diamond jewellery which is in great demand today," Shetty added.

Bollywood stars like Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Sridevi, Subhash Ghai, Mahesh Bhatt, Vinod Khanna, Boney Kapoor and many other celebrities also attended the fashion show.

"We are in the glamour business and diamond is something which we cannot afford to ignore in our industry," said filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

"At the heart of the fashion world, Delhi is a place where the purchasing power is high. It was thus a natural choice for us to open a flagship showroom here," said Vijaydimon chairman Vijay Shah.

The $400 million company, dealing with polishing, designing, trading and distributing of the stone is headquartered Belgium. It has shops in US, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, South Africa and Singapore.
