"I would love to make a biopic on Yuvraj Singh. He has had a fantastic life. He is a warrior. I could easily give name of Kapil Dev, Sunil Ghavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but I would say Yuvraj. I love his career graph and his fighting spirit," Abhishek told reporters here at the press conference of his Kabaddi team Jaipur Pink Panthers.
"I love his career graph he has a flighting spirit. His selection process, being the young superstar, fighting cancer, bouncing back, playing World Cup...its fantastic," he said.
Abhishek unveiled the jersey of his Jaipur Pink Panthers team today. The actor, who has invested in the team, hopes Kabaddi becomes popular like cricket in some years time.
"If with a celebrity the sports gets limelight then it's good. I want to make the sport of kabaddi popular among the masses. I want to promote the game as much as I can. We want to elevate the sport like cricket. We hope this franchise becomes big and sportsman will get opportunity to show their talent," he said.
Abhishek, who owns the team, expressed confidence in his players and hopes they win the tournament. "The team is working hard and they would deliver their best to win the competition. I would try and stay with them whenever I can. My father would be there tomorrow for the match. My Family would be present whenever they can," Abhishek said.
There will be total 8 teams in the league and the matches are beginning from July 26. The first match will between Jaipur Pink Panthers and U Mumba in Mumbai. The first memory of kabbadi for Abhishek was watching his father, Amitabh Bachchan's film 'Ganga Ki Saugand' in which he plays the sport.
