Actor Rajeev Khandelwal, who started his career with TV, is all set to make a comeback on the small screen. If the latest buzz is to be believed, the actor will be playing a detective in an upcoming show.
Says a source, `Rajeev's TV stint made him famous, but he decided to move to the big screen later on. Now the actor is all set to make a comeback; he will playing a detective in this show.`
The source adds that it will be a limited episode series. `It's a twenty six episode detective series and Rajeev's character will be along the lines of Byomkesh Bakshi. The show is being produced by Freemantle India and it will be aired on Star,` says a source close to the project.
It seems that the show will be a modernised version of Byomkesh Bakshi. `The producers have approached Drashti Dhami to play a parallel lead in the show, but it hasn't been finalised,` adds the source.
When contacted, Rajeev Khandelwal denied that he was doing the show. `Anupama from Freemantle India did Sach ka Saamna with me and I would love to work with her whenever there's something exciting. But sadly I am not doing anything with her as of now,` he replied.
