Apparently, Sonam Kapoor will play renowned painter Amrita Sher-Gil in an upcoming film

She played Milkha Singh's love interest, Biro, in 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' and if sources are to be believed, Sonam Kapoor is all set to be part of another biopic.

Sources say that the actress will be playing working renowned painter Amrita Sher-Gil in an upcoming film. Says a source, "Sonam will play Sher-Gil, an eminent painter of pre-independent India. The actress is in talks with the artist's family and work on her life story has already begun."

Amrita Sher-Gil was born to a Punjabi Sikh father and a Hungarian Jewish mother; she is also known as India's Frida Kahlo and considered to be among the most important painters of the 20th century.

Born in Budapest in 1913, she lived in India and France. She died on December 5, 1941 at the age of 29. Sources say that the film will bring to light Sher-Gil's family, friends, lovers and mentors. Sonam Kapoor was not available for comment.
