Tejaswini Kolhapure, youngest sister of Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure, believes in the adage
''slow and steady wins the race''.
Talking to media, Tejaswini, who will be seen with Manisha Koirala and Sanjay Kapoor in ''Anjaane -
the unknown'', said several artistes have seen meteoric rise in their careers after a slow start, and she
believes she is one of them.
''Right now, my career is going in the right direction and I am hoping for the best,'' Tejaswini
said.
Tejaswini said in ''Anjaane - the unknown'' she plays a glamorous girl with grey shades. ''My character
is in love with Sanjay Kapoor, but does not know he is married,'' she said.
''When my debut film Paanch's release was shelved, I was forced to sit home for two years which
affected me a lot,'' she recalled.
The actress, who worked in a television serial ''Mujhe Chand Chahiye'', said her character in the serial
as well as in ''Paanch'' was deglamourised. ''I was despearate to do a glamorous role,'' she said and
added ''Anjaane - the unknown'' has come as a good opportunity.
''People have forgotten that I was a model for eight years and I could look glamorous. I have learnt a
lot from Padmini when she was a top star. I was not interested in films and spurned acting offers as I
was an athlete and into high jump,'' she said.
Helen also plays a pivotal role in the film. Debutant director Harry Fernandes said the USP of the film
would be Helen's dance to her old number ''Mera naam chin chin chu''.
Tejaswini said apart from ''Anjaane - the unknown'', she will be seen in Navin Tak's ''Daag'' along with
Ashmit Patel and Deepal Shaw.
