The premiere of `Mira Nair`s much acclaimed and award winning `Monsoon Wedding` was `different` alright. Not the run-of-the-mill premiere and party for the toast of the Cannes circuit. Mira actually went through the motions of planning a `monsoony` affair. For starters, she had the entire cast arrive like a baraat.

Then, to simulate rain, she had spotboys escort the stars from their vehicles to the theatre under giant umbrellas. And after the show was over, it was party time for the baraatis as every one, includeing Naseer, Ratna, Vasundhara Das, Lillete Dubey, Javed Jaffrey and Gulshan Grover danced as if it were an actual shaadi. Talk about originality, no wonder Ms Nair`s film is winning awards while the rest of the world is gaping. Join the wedding bandwagon guys, zaroor aana.
