There is no denying the fact that in Bollywood there are certain stars and movies who are destined to make and break the records. And without an iota of doubt one can conveniently admit that SRK's recently released "Happy New Year" is the one belonging to that ilk.

If recent reports pertaining to this recently released heist saga featuring SRK, Deepika, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah are to be believed then despite slight fall in its second week collection the movie is all set to enter the 200 crore club at domestic BO and has managed to rake in approx 180 crores in its first two weeks.

While revealing the earning figures of the movie SRK's Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt Ltd released a statement this Monday stating, "Happy New Year had a strong showing at the Box Office in India in the 2nd weekend and collected Rs. 22.23 Crs for a total so far of Rs. 179.80 Crs."

This star studded directorial venture of Farah Khan kick-started its success spree soon after its release on Diwali, and emerged as on the biggest openers of Indian cine history besides crossing many milestones in just first three days of its release.


Although the movie received a sound slamming from the critics but in-spite of that it managed to defy all the predictions (probably because SRK movies are Critic Proof) and managed to emerge as one of the biggest grosser of the year. And that's because despite receiving a sound plunking from the entire critic lobby the movie uptill great extent succeeded in convincing the and pleasing the family audience.

Although the movie has already set up new records by its opening at domestic and overseas BO, but there is more to come and that's because the movie is yet to release in some of the key territories like Germany,Morocco,Philippines which are no less than a chateau for SRK because he owns a huge brigade of fans out there. So with the release of HNY in these countries it is expected that the earning of the movie will take a quantum leap too.
