A few days before the Salman Khan-starrer 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' went on the floors, director Kabir Khan was a hassled man. For, an exhaustive search for a younger version of the actor had proved futile. It was only when the casting director took the hunt to the social media sphere that the unit met with success.
A source close to the project says, "Najeem Khan, an Afghan youth, saw the post online and contacted the team. Soon after, he was taken on board. Though he hails from Kabul, he has been working as a model-actor in Delhi for the last two years. In fact, he considers Salman as his idol."
Najeem is excited about his Bollywood break and has already shot with Salman for two days in Delhi. "I got to know about the requirement through a social networking website and then auditioned for the role. I am thrilled to be a part of the film," he says.
The newcomer adds that he has been observing Salman on the sets to master his body language and expressions. "When I told him that he has inspired me to become an actor, he hugged me and asked me to work hard," he says.
Kabir Khan remained unavailable for comment.
