Abhishek Kapoor's 'Fitoor', which is currently being shot in Kashmir, will mark the acting debut of renowned ghazal singer, Talat Aziz. And it won't be a mere cameo. Sources tell us that he will be seen romancing Rekha, who plays a temperamental begum in the film, which also stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif.
Says a source close to the project, "Aziz has been signed on to play a high profile diplomat from Pakistan, a key character in the film. He will be seen wooing Rekha."
The singer is said to have started shooting already. Adds the source, "He has been given an authentic and interesting look for the role. He has shot a few scenes with Rekha and their chemistry is quite good. As of now, we won't be able to reveal whether his character is inspired by an actual person. But, it is definitely going to be appealing."
Incidentally, Aziz had given playback to Rekha's iconic film 'Umrao Jaan'. Confirming the news, the singer states, "It is true that I am playing a diplomat from across the border and have a romantic role opposite Rekha."
