Akshay Kumar, who has been part of the 'Hera Pheri' franchise, backed out of the third part after the makers apparently could not meet his demand for Rs 50 crore as fee.

Initially, there were rumours that the actor has not been approached for the third part. Then came in the news that Akshay wasn't happy with the script. But our source maintains that the actor was offered the film, but the exorbitant amount he quoted was not acceptable to the makers.


Says a source, "Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal agreed to what was being offered to them but Akshay wanted an astronomical amount. So, the makers had no option but to find another actor. The film was anyway delayed due to several rounds of conversation with him."

Akshay remained unavailable for comment.
