It was earlier reported that Priyanka Chopra's maiden production venture 'Madamji' has been put on hold due to its striking similarities with the Mallika Sherawat-starrer 'Dirty Politics'. The makers were said to be reworking the story that centered on a bar dancer turning a successful politician.
But the film's co-producer Ram Mirchandani has rubbished the rumours, stating that the project is taking time to roll due to Priyanka's unavailability. "The script is not being reworked; we have it ready since the last five months. Priyanka plays the lead role in the film and her dates are yet to be worked out," he says.
The actress wrapped up the pilot shoot of her debut international show, 'Quantico', and took off for Mumbai yesterday. "Once she lands in the city, I will meet her along with the director (Madhur Bhandarkar) to find out how her schedule looks like at the moment," adds Mirchandani.
Madhur was unavailable for comment, but a source close to the director says, "He is also busy with the post production of his upcoming film, 'Calendar Girls'. Once Priyanka is back in Mumbai, 'Madamji' will be discussed. But it looks like the project will have to wait longer as she has her hands full right now."
PeeCee is likely to join the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' by this weekend. The film also stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
