Holi is going to be more colourful for our brave soldiers this year as NDTV's popular programme Jai Jawan takes the lovely Mallika Sherawat to Leh-Ladakh to meet the jawans.

At the highest miltary training ground, Mallika's first visit was to the soldiers undertaking an obstacle course. Sherawat, with her spirit and spunk was extremely sporting as she attempted each obstacle that the soldiers endured.

Her next stop was the rock climbing activity where the soldiers are taught to scale heights and rappelling down high rock walls. She visited the engineering centre in the middle of a snow-covered valley, where she watched the soldiers learn to lay mines and detonate mines.

In the evening, as the sun went down, Mallika Sherawat mesmerized the soldiers with an impromptu stage show where she recited poetry and danced to lively tunes from her latest movie. Her energy and enthusiasm was contagious as she got the soldiers up on their feet to celebrate the festival of colours.

Sherawat had brought some messages for the soldiers from their family back home, which she shared with them. The whole trip came to an end with a bonfire in the true spirit of Holi.

Mallika returned to Mumbai couple of days back, extremely thrilled with the experience but perhaps she took the entire episode finally took the toll her her and now we hear that she is

As soon as she reached Ladakh, Mallika got a pleasant surprise — the army officers gifted her military jacket with ‘Mallika' written on it. But soon it was their turn to be surprised when the actress dazzled them with her adventure sport skills, which included river rafting and rock climbing.

But it seems that the Haryanawi belle took on a task beyond her stamina and ended up with a bleeding nose and high temperature after an adventurous excursion.

She came back to Mumbai couple of days back and down with flu since then.

In fact, Mallika's poor health has allegedly led to the cancellation of her promotional campaign for Satish Kaushik's forthcoming movie Shaadi Se Pehle.

Jai Jawan with Mallika Sherawat will be telecast on March 15, 2006 on the occasion of Holi on NDTV India and NDTV 24x7.
