The outburst arrived shortly after Bagchi publicly posted (and subsequently deleted) claims that Yash Raj Films (YRF) owed him ₹8 lakh in unpaid royalties for the hit title track of Saiyaara.
The 'Saiyaara' Song Theft & Credit Allegation
Mallik claimed that Bagchi did not originally create the title track for director Mohit Suri's Saiyaara. Instead, Mallik alleged that Bagchi took advantage of independent artists Faheem Abdullah and Arsalan Nizami to secure his spot on the project:
Snatching Credit: Mallik alleged that Bagchi stole the song right under the original creators' noses to get Mohit Suri to hire him for the film.
Challenge to YRF: Challenging the music label and filmmakers to release the original track, Mallik wrote:
"If they have the guts to stand up, they should release #SaiyaanMere & the world will know who actually made the song and kisne aise hi credit khaya."
Emotional Manipulation: Mallik further mocked Bagchi for using personal heartbreak to solicit film work: "Breakup mera bhi hua hai, woh dard dikhaake aur use karke picture mein ghusne ki bheek nahi maangta main."
Plagiarism, 'Humnawa Mere', and Paid PR Claims
Mallik extended his critique across Bagchi’s wider catalog of recreations and hit songs:
Lifting from Other Tracks: Mallik alleged that elements of Saiyaara were lifted from Rocky Khanna and Jubin Nautiyal’s hit track Humnawa Mere, claiming that original creators stayed silent only out of industry respect. He also accused Bagchi of habitually copying Pakistani songs, folk tunes, and indie YouTube creators.
Hypocrisy on Royalty Issues: Slamming Bagchi's complaint about unpaid royalties, Mallik reminded him that he had previously warned him against ruining classics like Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Masakali for quick money.
Media & PR Manipulation: Mallik called out Bagchi for allegedly using paid PR featuring old 2017–2018 photographs and pretending to be friendly in private while bad-mouthing major label heads like Bhushan Kumar behind closed doors.
Serious Allegations Regarding Female Artists
Beyond song credits, Mallik leveled serious personal allegations against Bagchi regarding his professional conduct:
"Should I mention what you have done to female singers and their lives? MeToo nahi, MeThree ho jaayega tujhpar."
Mallik further claimed Bagchi misled women with false promises and pressured peer composers to step away from projects under the pretense of having financial difficulties.
