If sources are to be believed, Madhur Bhandarkar is upset with Priyanka Chopra after their proposed collaborative venture, 'Madamji', was shelved. Buzz is that the director waited for the actress to wrap up her domestic and international assignments, but was disappointed that it didn't materialise eventually.
A source says the makers were reworking the story about a bar dancer turning a successful politician due to certain similarities with the Mallika Sherawat-starrer Dirty Politics. In the meantime, Priyanka was in the US to shoot the pilot episode of her maiden international show, Quantico, for two months. After returning to India in March-end, she joined the shoot of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani.
"Madhur is upset that she has been taking up other projects, including Reema Kagti's next opposite Fawad Khan, and delayed her own production venture. He feels she could have canned Madamji earlier instead of making him wait for so long only to finally shelve it," the source suggests.
While the actress and Madhur were not available for comment, a source close to the director denies the buzz, saying: "Priyanka is family to Madhur and they share a great relationship. There is no problem between them."
PeeCee recently announced plans to make four medium budget movies with Madhur under her production banner.
