Fawad wants to step in Dev Anand's shoes

Randeep Hooda has shaved off his beard after wrapping up the shoot of upcoming biopic 'Sarbjit', where he is playing the titular character of the Indian death row prisoner.

For playing the role of Sarabjit Singh, the 39-year-old 'Highway' star learned the Punjabi dialect and transformed his physique to suit the prisoner's body type.

"Goodbye Sarbjit. Gratitude to Omung Kumar, Vanita Omung Kumar, Sandeep Singh, Richa Chadda, Kiran Deohans, Aishwarya Rai, crew," he posted on Twitter, along with a video in which he speaks in chaste Punjabi.

Aishwarya play Sarabjit's sister, while Richa essays his wife.

The shooting commenced in December and the movie will also be screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2016. It will release on May 20.
