Actress Sherlyn Chopra, who started her career with low-budget films "Time Pass" and "Naughty Boy, says she is from Andhra Pradesh and not Pakistan.

Sherlyn is being mistaken for Pakistani actress Monalisa who is making her Indian debut in the Sunny Deol-starrer "Kaafila".

"I'm very much an Indian. I hail from Andhra, not Pakistan," said Sherlyn, who is also a winner of the Miss Andhra crown.

However, she doesn't want to blame anyone for the mix-up.

"I think there is confusion because earlier my screen name was Mona. I realised this when a gentleman addressed me as Monalisa at a Mumbai coffee shop where I was discussing my film 'Red Swastik'," she told.

"Now that my pictures are being captioned as Monalisa in newspapers, I thought it is time clear the confusion," said Sherlyn, who is half-Christian and half-Muslim with Persian origins and a Punjabi surname.
