The makers of the film had a meeting with Irrfan where the actor unequivocally stated that he wants the film to release in the best way possible.
The actor's recent announcement, that he is diagnosed with a rare disease and serious health challenges, had lead to speculation in the media and among his fans about the status of his upcoming projects. Blackमेल's makers were certain that they wanted to do as per Irrfan's wishes.
Bhushan Kumar and Abhinay Deo have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Irrfan for his integrity and professionalism in the face of adversity.
Director Abhinay Deo said, "I recently met Irrfan and even though he is battling his health, he was very excited about the initial response to the trailer and songs of Blackmail and was very keen that we released the film in the best possible way on April 6th as scheduled. We are all praying for him and I am confident that he will sit with us and watch the film on April 6."
Producer Bhushan Kumar added, saying, `Our prayers are with Irrfan and his family. We are hopeful that he will recover from his illness. As per his wish, we will release Blackमेल on April 6 in the best possible manner.`
Blackमेल has received immense appreciation ever since the teaser of the film released. The teaser showed Irrfan running around the streets wearing nothing more than a pair of boxer shorts with his face covered by a bra-and-panty paper bag.
The hilarious trailer of the Irrfan-starrer further piqued the interest of the audience in which the question raised was: `What will you do if you find your wife in bed with someone else?`
The quirky trailer promises a madcap comedy starring an ensemble cast of Irrfan, Kirti Kulhari, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh, Omi Vaidya, Anuja Sathe, Pradhuman Singh Mall, Gajraj Rao, among many others.
Produced by T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and RDP Motion Pictures' Abhinay Deo, Blackमेल, directed by Abhinay Deo, is slated to release on April 6, 2018.
