Indian model-turned-actor John Abraham says he was nervous about shooting his latest film, "Baabul'' or "Parent's Home,'' because he was working with some of Bollywood's biggest stars, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

In the film released earlier this month, Abraham shares screen time with top Indian stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Hema Malini.

"It had a full-on cast and every one of them has proved themselves in mainstream cinema. I was new to this set up,'' Abraham said according a newspaper.

Abraham plays a musician who falls in love with and marries a young widow. He said he was happy to be part of a film that could help to make widow remarriage acceptable in India.

While things are gradually changing in urban India, widow remarriage is frowned upon in many parts of the country. Superstition often links a widow with _ and even holds her responsible for _ the death of her husband and marrying a widow is said to bring bad luck.

One of India's top models, Abraham, 33, started acting three years ago. Since then he has consistently been voted one of Bollywood's sexiest stars in movie polls.

He has starred in several blockbuster movies since he struck fame in the 2004 hit "Dhoom.'' Aside from "Baabul,'' he is also currently starring in "Kabul Express,'' in which he plays a television journalist covering the war against the Taliban in post-9/11 Afghanistan. That film will hit theatres later this month.
