5th August 2019, Mumbai: After an overwhelming response to Fankind, an online fund-raising platform founded by Anshula Kapoor; Varun Dhawan's experience is now live on the platform where one lucky fan will get to play a game of paintball with the actor! The fan has to transact for a minimum of Rs.300 or multiples thereof and will then stand a chance to have an experiential with him through a random selection process by a third party randomiser. All proceeds received through the campaign will go towards uplifting farmers by providing resources to Manavlok; an NGO which is near and dear to the actor.
Paint ball is an exhilarating, fun and engaging activity, where the participants try to dodge the colour pellets which are aimed at them.
Commenting on his association with Fankind, actor Varun Dhawan said, `The severe water crisis in Maharashtra has affected the farmers the most. The prolonged drought has resulted in the loss of their agricultural livelihood. Which is why the funds we raise through this first Fankind experience will support Manavlok Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that works with farmers and provides them with resources such as irrigation systems, fertilizers, seeds, saplings, new training etc. The donations we raise via fankind will be used towards their horticulture project to help farmers supplement their existing income by cultivating non-traditional crops that are suited for the local land and can survive the draught`
To ensure authenticity and credible disbursement of funds, Fankind has tied up with GiveIndia, India's most trustworthy donation platform. All donations by fans will be routed through GiveIndia, who will ensure that they create maximum impact through the partner NGO. Fankind hopes to raise funds for Manavlok's horticulture initiative, through which farmers will be provided with the necessary training, drip irrigation devices, saplings, fertilizers and support to cultivate non-traditional crops such as drumsticks, custard apple, lemon etc, in order to supplement their annual income and lessen their reliance on traditional crops that fail to thrive in drought conditions.
Excited about her first campaign, Anshula Kapoor, Founder, Fankind said `The main objective of Fankind is to raise maximum funds the charities need to help their micro-campaigns run successfully. This campaign will help Manavlok Foundation in focusing on doing good work without having to stress out about raising funds. With Varun's campaign, if Fankind manages to raise fund for Manavlok Foundation and help in its small way, it will be a huge win for us and we look forward to associating with many NGOs.''
The campaign will be live from 5th of August on the website Fankind.org. Varun equally excited about meeting his 'No1 Fan' signed off saying, `If you want to play paintball with me, log on to Fankind.org and donate for a chance to meet me! All your donations will go to Manavlok to help farmers in Maharashtra.`
