2019 marks 20 glorious years in the film industry for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who started his innings with Amir Khan starrer `Sarfarosh`. Since then, Siddiqui has become one of the greatest working actors today. He is associated with intense, tough-guy roles but with `Motichoor Chaknachoor` he is entering the world of a romantic comedy for the first time.
In a conversation with film critic Anupama Chopra, Siddiqui talked about making his co-stars comfortable with him by making a pre-shoot environment as light as possible. He also talked about his self-referential `Housefull 4` cameo, saying that he tends to stay away from his awe-inspiring performances by removing himself from those parts.
The `Gangs of Wasseypur` actor also talked about doing light-hearted films like his upcoming rom-com `Motichoor Chaknachoor` saying that as an actor such work is beneficial for him, saying that it comes easy to him because of his experiences in the theatre- be it the traditional form of theatre or farce. As an actor, he is not afraid of taking risks and welcomes challenges of being in both commercial and independent films.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen alongside Athiya Shetty in `Motichoor Chaknachoor` this week on November 15, 2019.
