Varun Dhawan will star in his second David Dhawan's recreation of his own film after Judwaa 2. Sara Ali Khan, after romancing Kartik Aaryan on screen, will now romance Varun. The original 1995 comedy film starred Govinda and Karishma Kapoor and became a cult classic over the years. The remake retains most of the production team with Vashu Bhagnani, Rumi Jaffrey and David Dhawan with only the stars changing.

The film is directed by David Dhawan, produced by Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani under the banner Pooja Entertainment, and Deepshikha Deshmukh. It's written by Farhad Samji and the screenplay is by Rumi Jaffrey. The film has reached its completion today and is slated to hit the screens on May 1, 2020.
