The first of them was Fox Productions who came up with its first venture Meri Awaaz Ko Mil Gaye Roshni in Indian television industry. They are currently working on their second project, which is tentatively titled Sangam.
"The entry of international players has certainly made way for the Indian television industry into the international market," opines Ravi Rai, an Indian producer who is currently working with a UK-based production house on a serial.
So will they be able to bring about a change in the Indian industry? "It will certainly bring in more funds into our industry. But I think that due to the kind of viewers that we have in India, they will not be able to bring about any major change in the industry," remarks Ravi.
Though Ravi does not find any major difference in the professionalism, but he agrees that the response from foreign producers comes rather quickly when compared to the time taken by their Indian peers. "Otherwise, our Indian professionals are at par with them," informs Ravi.
Seeing animation experts like Disney come up with youth-centric serials like Vicky and Vetal and Dhoom Machale is another example of these foreign players trying to make their stand in the Indian market.
Well Ekta Kapoor and her success in the industry do have some kind of influence on the foreign players. The Indian television industry has become like sweet nectar to the ‘bees' from the international market.
