Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the screening of The Sabarmati Report, a film inspired by the 2002 Godhra train burning incident, at the Parliament Library building on Monday. The film's portrayal of a tragic chapter in Indian history received praise from the Prime Minister, who commended the filmmakers for their effort and storytelling.

Ekta Kapoor Thanks PM Modi for Encouragement


Producer Ekta Kapoor took to Instagram to share pictures from the special screening, which featured Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the film's cast, including Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra.

Ekta Kapoor expressed her gratitude, writing: "Pride and gratitude beyond words! Hon'ble PM @narendramodi ji graces #TheSabarmatiReport screening. PM Modi Praises the Film's Efforts


The Prime Minister also took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts: "Joined fellow NDA MPs at a screening of The Sabarmati Report. I commend the makers of the film for their effort."



A Career Highlight for Vikrant Massey


Vikrant Massey, who plays one of the lead roles in the film, described the experience as the "highest point of his career." Speaking to reporters after the screening, he said: "I watched the film with the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and several MPs. It was a very special experience. I am very happy. This is the highest point of my career."

The Story of 'The Sabarmati Report'


The film recounts the events surrounding the tragic burning of the S6 coach of the Sabarmati Express near Godhra railway station on February 27, 2002. The incident left a lasting impact on India's socio-political landscape.

Raashii Khanna and Vikrant Massey portray journalists investigating the events, offering a fresh perspective on the tragedy. Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor, Amul V. Mohan, and Anshul Mohan.
