As anticipation builds for the release of “Kesari Chapter 2”, the film’s cast and crew took a solemn journey to Amritsar, visiting the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh to pay homage to the martyrs of India’s freedom struggle. Akshay Kumar Leads Tribute Visit with Cast

Leading man Akshay Kumar, who portrays C. Sankaran Nair in the film, was joined by co-stars R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday. They were accompanied by Punjabi actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi and legendary singer Gurdas Maan during their visit to the sacred and historic sites.

The team first offered prayers at the Golden Temple, followed by an emotional visit to Jallianwala Bagh, where they remembered the victims of the 1919 massacre.

Speaking to the media at the event, Akshay Kumar shed light on the lesser-known hero of the tragedy, saying: “Every year on April 13, people gather in large numbers at Jallianwala Bagh to pay tribute to the victims of the massacre, but very few know about Shankar Nair — the man who raised his voice for the innocent people killed in the 1919 tragedy.”

He also revealed that descendants of Sankaran Nair were invited to the memorial and honored as part of the tribute.

Akshay emphasized the emotional impact of the story, adding: “Whenever I watch the trailer or the film itself, it moves me to tears. A lot of effort has gone into making this film, and I urge everyone to watch it with their children so that the next generation remains connected to our history.”
