Ayesha Takia was under consideration for a lead role opposite Salman Khan in Boney Kapoor's forthcoming production. Now, the actress has been signed for the
project.
Reports say it was Ayesha's performance in Nagesh Kukunoor's ‘Dor' that first impressed Boney Kapoor. Both the producer and his wife, Sri Devi, believe that Ayesha has
the talent that can take her a long way in the film industry.
On top of it, Boney was looking for a fresh face to pair with Salman Khan in his production which is the Hindi remake of Tamil hit ‘Pokkiri'. The Hindi version of the film is
titled ‘Wanted Dead And Alive'.
The movie tells the story of an undercover cop who works for a mafia don. His aim is to eliminate the gangsters by being a part of them. Salman plays the lead role in the
film. Om Puri and Mahesh Manjrekar are also among the cast.
The film is directed by Prabhudeva, who also directed the original. Music composer duo Sajid-Wajid has reportedly been roped in to compose the music.
The coming days will see the shooting of two songs for the movie. The schedule will be held in Bangkok.
