The journey of Amul Star Voice of India began in May 2007 with many talented aspiring singers being chosen from across six city auditions conducted at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Indore and Jaipur.
The show had a panel of five esteemed judges – "Alka Yagnik", "Abhijeet", "Aadesh Srivastava", "Jatin Pandit", "Lalit Pandit" - and the celebrity host, "Shaan". The mercury rose steadily on the show as
STAR Plus turned up the heat with neck-to-neck competition from diversely talented singers.
From among the selected talent from across all auditions, only 33 made their way to Mumbai.
Tough
competition and even tougher elimination finally got twelve very talented contestants called the ‘Bemisaal 12' at the centrestage. Viewer voting resulted in plenty shocks and surprises. Many budding talented singers
were unexpectedly voted out of this contest but their presence still remains.
Eliminated contestants "Toshi", "Irfan", "Sumitra" and "Abhas" have already recorded songs for leading composers like "Pritam",
"Aadesh Srivastava" and "Sajid-Wajid" for upcoming Hindi films.
Amul Star Voice of India witnessed many celebrities gracing the show with their unique acts, singing & dancing on stage with the young contestants.
Ranging from eminent sarod player - Ustad "Amzad Ali
Khan" to Bollywood heart throbs: "Rani Mukherjee", "Deepika Padukone", "John Abraham", "Bipasha Basu", "Shahid Kapur", "Rishi Kapoor" and "Neetu Singh", "Hema Malini", "Anil Kapoor", "Shiney Ahuja", "Soha Ali
Khan", "Konakan Sen", "Govinda", and many more celebrities. Overwhelmed with their talent, these celebrities have encouraged, appreciated and supported the contestants of Amul Star Voice of India, so much so
that the contestants were showered with gifts.
Among them was "Aadesh Srivastava" who gifted "Abhaas", "Ishmeet" and "Harshit" each a brand new Chevrolet Spark.
No matter who the winner is, this platform has given every participant a very strong dais and exposure to the world of music in India and internationally. This journey has indeed been a very special experience for every
participant and also for the entire team of "Amul Star Voice of India".
This is not the end of the journey but a new beginning. The platform is being extended to younger kids with a new offering Star Voice Of India – "Chottey Ustad" about to hit the screens shortly.
Going forward Star wishes these budding singers all the very best for their successful and bright future!!
