Salman was recently measured and photographed by expert Madame Tussauds sculptors in Mumbai to kick-start painstaking work on his eagerly awaited wax double.
In a video message recorded for his debut in the world famous wax museum Salman thanked his fans for the unique honor they had bestowed on him.
"I am touched and honored that my fans have chosen me to appear in the prestigious Madame Tussauds. I look forward to visiting and coming face-to-face with my likeness," he said.
Salman has also donated a set of clothes for the wax replica.
Khan was picked from a field of ten Bollywood stars in a poll conducted over the summer by the British Asian entertainment magazine Ikonz and the BBC Asian Network.
He beat nine other Indian mega stars including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukerji, Karan Johar, Kajol, Lata Mangeshkar, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham with over 10,000 votes.
