Industry sources revealed, "There were reports in early 2008 that Salman's younger brother, Sohail Khan was keen on a remake of the Tom Cruise starrer starring the King Khan and Salman.
Even the script was finalized as well. It had Salman playing a larger than life character, that of a whacky sportsman filling in Cuba Gooding Junior's shoes whereas, SRK was to play Tom Cruise's part of an ambitious sports agent.
The female lead opposite them both was then yet to be finalized. Since SRK had got busy with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Salman with Main Aur Mrs. Khanna, the plans to start this film were back then post- poned to early 2009.
But then the duo had the infamous brawl at Katrina's birthday party in July 2008 and the plans to make the film went kaput."
Sohail Khan's spokesperson states in this regard, "I don't think so in the current scenario between the two, Sohail can make the film. He is now presently concentrating on his other productions, Kisaan, Main Aur Mrs Khanna and a couple of others."
One can recollect, Salman and SRK having shared screen space in blockbusters like Karan Arjun and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. They were also there in Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam with Madhuri Dixit.
The duo even had a fight on the sets of Chalte Chalte in 2002 when Salman barged in to meet Aishwarya Rai who was co-starring with SRK in the film. As a result of this, SRK replaced Ash with Rani Mukerji.
The duo made up during Farha Khan's sangeet in 2004. All was well with them till they fought on Katrina Kaif's birthday party in July 2008.
It is learnt that Salman had approached SRK for an item song in Main aur Mrs Khanna but the latter refused, then the two argued who was the bigger star and SRK made an unpleasant remark about Aishwarya Rai which didn't go down well with Salman.
