/> The first time Aftab Shivdasani heard the title ALOO CHAAT, he wasn't sure whether he would like to be associated with the film.

"But the moment I heard the storyline, I realized that ALOO CHAAT was the apt title, " Aftab informs me. Director Robby Grewal elaborates, "The title is more of a metaphor. My film has nothing to do with aloo chaat, nor is anyone selling aloo chaat in the film. The film is a simple love story, with loads of humor. "

Another interesting aspect is that like Robby's previous film MP3 - MERA PEHLA PEHLA PYAAR, which borrowed incidents from Robby's early years (while growing up in Delhi), ALOO CHAAT also has characters that Robby knows closely.

"ALOO CHAAT is about a Punjabi family and since I am Punjabi, who was born and brought up in Delhi, I know the culture and people well. I know how my mom, aunt and uncle would react to situations and also their mannerisms. I've incorporated that in my film, " Robby reveals.

Interestingly, Robby was keen to start a film with Amitabh Bachchan before ALOO CHAAT happened. In fact, the veteran was supposed to enact the role of Lord Krishna in the film.

"We even had meetings with Mr. Bachchan, but when you plan projects with busy and established stars, you shouldn't expect bulk dates instantly. They are committed to other films.

Hence, I decided to start ALOO CHAAT in the intervening period. The script of that film is complete and I would take it up once ALOO CHAAT releases, " Robby states.

ALOO CHAAT is a love story primarily with loads of humor, but the fun-n-laughter isn't the type that you watch in Priyadarshan or Anees Bazmee movies. "It's more on the lines of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee films. Simple and uncomplicated. It's sure to keep you smiling all through those 2 hours, " Robby adds.
