Now following Anil, his Salaam-E-Ishq director Nikhil Advani too has signed up with the same agency hoping to strike it big in Hollywood despite two back to back big budget flops. After all his last film Chandni Chowk To China was a Warner Bros production. Perhaps Advani intends to do a reverse of Danny Boyle.
While Anil Kapoor's credentials as an actor are more solid and the breathtaking success of Slumdog Millionaire could make him a fixture in Hollywood, the same cannot be said about Advani whose only hit, his debut film, Kal Ho Na Ho's success is being attributed more to his producer Karan Johar.
Anil Kapoor it is learnt will be guest starring in the Fox TV series 24. Also, he is being honored with a retrospective at the Indian Film Festival Los Angeles from April 21-26. The salute will include screenings of his films Lamhe and Virasat as well as the world premiere of the English-language version of Gandhi, My Father, which he produced.
Nikhil is about to start work on Chand Bhai starring Akshaye Khanna and Vidya Balan and he is also working on the animated flick, Ab Dilli Door Nahin.
