It was reported that Yash Patnaik is all set to produce a film on life of Buddha and it will be directed by Shyam Benegal. But now the scenario has changed as this particular project has been held back. Along side there are two other movies coming on the same subject.

We called Shayam Benegal to know the fact. "For now the project is at the back burner, " he stated.

Whereas the producer Yash Patnaik, is very confident about his venture. "My movie is called Siddharth Gautama- The Buddha and it will be directed by Shyam Benegal. I can't disclose any information. Please wait for the official announcement, " he conversed.

Talking about the other two movies Yash quipped that, "B.K Modi had been planning this venture since long time and he had been contemplating over the directors. There were the lists of people like Shekhar Kapoor, Meera Nair, "

"There is another project which is produced by Mahindra and Mahindra which is again on the life of Buddha and will be directed by Pan Nalin, " he concludes.

The other two films will definitely serve the commercial purpose. With Shyam Benegal quotes it seems that the director is in two minds of whether to take the project or not.
