Confirming the news, Joshi says, "Jethalal doesn't get the IPL ticket but I'm very fortunate to have received the same for the Mumbai Indians versus Delhi Daredevils match at the Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai) on April 13.
Nikhil Meswani, executive director of RIL, owners of Mumbai Indians, gifted me the tickets for the above match. I've been to cricket match before but this is the first time that I've witnessed an IPL game.
Luckily, I had an off from work that day, thus I could afford to see the match live."
Did Meswani arrange for the tickets after watching Jethalal's plight in Taarak Mehta ka ooltah chashmah?
"I don't know about that. He didn't tell that he was giving these tickets to me after watching the show. I really appreciate the gesture shown by him, " replied Joshi.
Well, Joshi's absence proved lucky for Mumbai as they defeated Delhi. The Mumbai Indians fan will certainly hope to see Joshi again for their semi-final clash. Will he make it to the DY.Patil Stadium on April 21?
Laughs! "No, I'm sure I'll get any more offs soon but my best wishes are always there with the Mumbai team, " the actor signs off.
