First... a reality check.
She is not his favourite co-stars. Neither is he. While she has to cope up with his ever growing fan following he has to overlook the friendly encouter with her ex-flames almost every other day. But still...they are the hottest couple in town.
They are John Abraham and Bipasha Basu, the pair that gave Bollywood its first taste of sleaze.
"Being in a relationship with Bipasha is really the same as anyone being in a relationship.," says the hunk, "A relationship is about time, commitment and positive energy."
Bipasha's take: "As a couple we have always been very honest about our relationship. There are speculations all the time but John and I are very open in our relationship. We no longer question each other when we're linked elsewhere. We just smile and say, 'One more'."
But the sultry siren is in no mood to give up her career for the marital bliss. Wedding is something which is still five years away, she insists and till then she want to establish herself as an actor rather some hottie who hogged the limelight with her oomph.
"I would not do a Jism today,'' she says, "Even in Jism, I did not show that much skin. I can't do anything vulgar. I just believe in exuding sex appeal. Being sexy is a part of being attractive. If your personality is sexy, you don't need to take your clothes off to prove a point. If I took off my clothes like some of today's girls are doing, I wouldn't know where to look!"
For the ongoing sleaze season, Basu doesn't put the blame on starlets like Mallika Sherawat and Sameera Reddy.
According to her: "Our cinema is confused about sexiness. They call me the original sex symbol. But women like Zeenat Aman and Sharmila Tagore were sexy long before me. And they never did anything vulgar. Neither would I. Girls like Mallika Sherawat and Sameera Reddy seem willing to go much further. And if these girls become overnight sensations after doing such roles, good for them!"
So is she going for a change of image?
"My image is constantly changing," insists Bipasha, "I keep exploring various genres. I've been offered dozens of bold films, including Julie. I know if I do any of these sexy films, they will be a sellout. I know I'll make a lot of money by making more Jisms. Extra-marital affairs have become a bore."
"I just do what comes naturally to me, and then move on. I'm here for five years. There is no marriage on the cards until then. After that, I'd like to marry John. But I don't know where we will go five years from now."
