Indian oomph goddess Malaika Arora Khan is acting in a Hindi film version of Charlie's Angels and
she plays one of the angels.
A take off on the original Hollywood flicks on three sexy, crime-fighting women, the film will go on the
floors in February.
"I play this really dashing character, and it's enormous fun," tells Arora on the sidelines of a news
conference.
She has just been declared the face of Shape Up, a new cellulite fighting lotion from the stable of Indian
fitness major VLCC.
"I am at a stage in my career where roles are being offered to me right, left and centre. They are really
dime a dozen. But I'm selecting only the few that really interest me."
Known as the original 'item girl' (actresses who appear in just one, usually sizzling, dance sequence in a
Bollywood film), Khan is trying to break new ground my doing full length roles.
Once an extremely successful MTV VJ, she is now concentrating completely in her acting
career.
There is one other film in the offing. "I play myself in a film that is also being shot next year," said Arora
Khan. "It's a typical Bollywood film full of fight, emotion and song and dance."
