Anurag Kashyap's second film, "Black Friday", scheduled for release Jan 28, will now be his first release as a
director because his controversial debut "Paanch" will hit the big screen only in February.
The reason for the delay is the fact that the film's producer, Tutu Sharma, is still debating release dates for
"Paanch" and "Khullam Khulla Pyar Karenge".
The promos of the latter are already on air but Sharma said that he is now working on more innovative
promos.
"I wanted to be sure about a responsible distribution network and a proper chain of theatres for 'Paanch', which
is why it took me a little longer.
"I am definitely planning to release the two films in February though I intend to announce the exact release
dates only towards the end of this month," tells Sharma.
"Black Friday", based on S. Hussain Zaidi's book, which recounts the serial bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai
in March 1993, has generated tremendous curiosity.
Meanwhile exhibitors are confused about prioritising the business potential of the three forthcoming films that
have "Black" in their titles.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Black" tops the list as the most anticipated film, followed by the Ajay Devgan starrer
"Blackmail" and producer Arindam Mitra's "Black Friday".
