Anurag Kashyap's next small budget film Ugly, which was supposed to go on floor in December and then in March has been pushed back yet again. Now the film is expected to go on the floor in June.
Buzz is that the project that will star Rahul Bhat and Tejaswini Kolhapure is being neglected because Anurag's attention has been diverted to his multi-crore gangster film and his next with Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
Too busy for small films?
A well-placed source reveals, "The film now has been pushed back once again and will go on the floor this June. The cast and crew are quite disappointed with the delays.
They have been waiting for Anurag to start this film but he seems too busy." Divulging the reason behind the delay, the source, "Anurag has told the cast and crew that the film is pushed back because the script is not ready."
However, there seems to be another reason, as well, "Anurag is known to make small budget films which are high on content. But now he seems to be going against his own rule.
He seems to be so busy with the edit of his multi-crore film and the pre-production of his upcoming magnum opus with Ranbir Kapoor that he is neglecting Ugly which is an approximately Rs 6 crore film.
The edit of his gangster film started last July and still hasn't got locked. All these things have left the filmmaker no time to concentrate on this one." Anurag Kashyap was unavailable for comment.
