`Aunty, I am unable to cope with Jiah, ` Suraj supposedly confided in the lady, and suggested that they terminate the relationship.
This disclosure has been made by a very close family friend of the Pancholis.
Suraj's mother Zarina confirms this. `It's a fact that my son's relationship with Jiah was not working out. We don't want to go into the reasons for this.
Because firstly it is unethical to speak about the private life of someone so young who is no more, and secondly because no one really knows what happened between the two. But we do know that Suraj wanted to call the relationship off because it wasn't working out. He did visit Jiah's mother to inform her of this. `
Zarina reveals that Suraj is `completely dazed` by the turn of events.
Appparently when he was arrested and taken to the police station all Suraj would say is, `Why are they trying to destroy my life?`
Says Zarina, `Suraj speaks very softly. You have to strain hard to hear him. This was his first vocal protest on what is happening in his life. Our bachcha is being made into a scapegoat. My husband Aditya and I are grieving for Jiah. But our son was not responsible for her death. Jiah's soul cannot rest in peace until these unsavoury controversies and lies about my son die down. `
