"If there is anybody to support you, there is nothing wrong in it. If you have a godfather great, or else it's your bad luck, frankly," Shiv told reporters in a group interview.
"I didn't have any godfather and that is why Akshay selected me for 'Boss' because when Akshay came in this industry, nobody supported him. So he is here to support me and push me. It's like a dream come true and I will not take it lightly," he added.
Shiv debuted in Bollywood with Bejoy Nambiar's "Shaitan".
Directed by Anthony D'Souza "Boss" also features Aditi Rao Hydari.
He said: "I am a huge fan of Akshay. I have learned a lot from him. After being such a huge star, he is still so simple and down to earth. I idolise his qualities and the way he deals with people."
