The suspense over Amisha Patel not featuring in the promos of "Mangal Pandey - The Rising" is finally over.

The makers of the periodic film, set to hit Indian theatres in the first week of August, did not want to reveal her role of a young widow opposite Hollywood hunk Toby Stevens.

It was a well-calculated move considering the importance of the role. The strategy was to promote the film with Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee and be hush-hush on Amisha.

The makers wanted to ensure that the mystery is not revealed before people visit the theatres.

Aishwarya Rai was the first choice for the role but was replaced by Amisha.

When contacted, Amisha giggled: "I have full faith in Kaleidoscope, Ketan Mehta and Aamir, and I'm quite confident over the outcome."

"It was a good experience to be in such great company. I look forward to the release and am sure people would love the film," she said.
