Former Miss Asia Pacific and Bollywood actress Dia Mirza recently launched an album by
Saregama titled ‘Pure Voice'.
‘Pure Voice' is a compilation of the best duet songs of Asha Bhosle and late singer and actor
Kishore Kumar. The USP of the album is that all the songs and compositions in it are
original.
"I believe that not only my generation but grand mother's, my mother's and the forthcoming
generations will continue to enjoy their music," said Mirza.
Coming down heavily on remixes, she said, "I am very much against remixes. If given an option, I
would always prefer buying original music, because I feel you are rehashing something which is
absolutely beautiful and everyone is enjoying listening to it for years. It's unfair to kill the original
songs."
Kuldeep Makkar, Chief Executive of Saregama, said that he launched the album, because he wanted
to do something original, instead of following the trend of remixes.
"There were talks about remixes and many videos were created. But people were probably missing
the right product which is based on the original songs and original sound. This is an effort to launch
the original music in the original form. We have compiled the best of Asha and Kishore as duets.
This album is all about good music and melodies," Makkar said.
Makkar, however, said that remixes are welcome if they are better than the original songs.
Saregama and Strepsils have teamed up to produce a series of music albums to promote old Hindi
film music.
