Even as Sharmila Tagore prepares to come together with her daughter Soha Ali Khan in Aparna Sen's Jewellery Box, the enchantress of the 1960s and 70s is about to share screen space with her star son Saif Ali Khan.
The film in question? Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Eklavya.
Confirming the familial confluence Saif says, "Yes Amma does have a role in Eklavya, but we don't have any scenes together. In fact some people believe we're coming together for the first time. Firstly I've no scenes with her. Secondly, we've already shared space in a film before. She played by mom in my first film Aashiq Awara. But again we had no scenes together. Her role finished before I came into the plot."
Saif isn't the first star-beta to have the privilege of having his mom adorn the screen with him. Years ago the legendary Nutan had consented to play her son Mohnish Behl's mother in a tacky film called Yeh Kaisa Farz .
The amazing Jaya Bachchan played her real-life role to Abhishek in a Bengali film Des.
